Like a relic from another age, this small bearded figure is framed by an ornate border of nails and metallic stars. The roughly carved, symmetrical face recalls deified visages on ancient coins or seals of power. It gazes out from the center of what might be a sacred door or a forgotten chest, guarding secrets that reveal themselves only to the watchful eye.
Sculpture carved in plaster, based on a cast from a fine grog refractory clay model, and reproduced in resin. Painted with shellac, chalk paint, acrylics, and varnish.
