This sculpture depicts the silhouette of a robotic boy with a pose that suggests introspection, sleep, or disconnection. The body, articulated like an ancient precision machine, is filled with intricate details—gears, plates, and mechanisms. And yet, the scene doesn’t feel cold: the child’s posture, held aloft by an ornate pedestal, conveys a sense of reverent stillness, almost sacred. It seems like an offering to the mystery of humanity, as if a soul might be flickering somewhere beneath the metal.
Sculpture modeled in clay, carved plaster, and repurposed objects. Casted in resin with new details by assembling repurposed objects and epoxy putty. Painted with shellac, chalk paint, acrylics, and varnish.
