This sculpture by Tomás Barceló seems to emerge from a fusion of nature and fantasy, evoking both the profile of a guinea fowl and the sinister presence of a puppet movie villain. Its elongated head, with a curved beak and wrinkled skin, conveys a sense of cunning and restrained malevolence.
The reddened, half-closed eye enhances its conspiratorial aura, as if this strange being were scheming in the shadows. The worn texture and desaturated tones give it an almost fossil-like appearance, as if it were the remnant of a forgotten creature or the portrait of a character from an untold story.
Sculpture modeled in fine grog refractory clay and reproduced in resin. Painted with shellac, chalk paint, acrylics, ferric paint, and varnish.
