A conceptual drawing of a robot belonging to the World of Kal universe. The structure combines a broad, symmetrical skull shape with mechanisms, plates, joints, and tubular elements that construct a completely artificial anatomy. The large circular eyes and the complexity of the lower section, formed by multiple parts and connections, reinforce the idea of a face conceived as a machine.

Drawn with colored pencils, acrylics, rubber stamps, and markers on dyed paper.

15 x 27 cm | 6 x 11 in | A5+

Unique Piece

An exclusive and irreproducible work of art, singular and unique.
Collection: The World of Kal

The World of Kal is an ongoing narrative universe that explores the awakening of robots after the disappearance of humanity during the so-called Days of Chaos.

Deprived of their original directives, these beings begin to reconstruct their identity, purpose, and relationship with the world, giving rise to a new form of consciousness between the mechanical and the symbolic.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tomás Barceló

Tomás Barceló, a Mallorcan sculptor and disciple of the master J.S. Jassans at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, blends his passion for archaic sculpture with assemblage and polychromy.

Throughout his life, his boundless curiosity has led him to roles as a teacher, lifeguard, mariachi, bagpiper, film sculptor, and gallery artist, among others. His work is the culmination of his love for form and color, inspired by ancient art in his youth, fantasy and science fiction in his teenage years, and building toys from his childhood.

With each piece, Barceló seeks to restore sculpture to its place as a popular art, accessible and present in every home once again.
