A light-toned version of the Jonah relief, carved on a surface that preserves the texture of an aged wooden plank. The scene captures the tense moment in which two figures struggle to hold Jonah as the great fish claims him from below. The gentle lines and vertical composition lead the eye along the descending movement, creating a direct and expressive narrative, reminiscent of an illustrated passage from an old altarpiece.
The original piece was created through direct carving on a plaster slab, allowing the form to emerge directly from the block. Once completed, the work is molded and reproduced in resin, preserving every mark and texture of the original. Subtle finishes and light touches of color are then applied to the resin cast, giving each piece its own character.
