Freestanding sculpture

This child's face, carved with an almost archaic simplicity, conveys a quiet melancholy. The cracks and textures on its surface resemble weathered wood, as if salvaged from a shipwreck or unearthed from an ancient dream. The sleeping expression—almost ritualistic—suggests silence, stillness, and endurance. It is a fragile yet powerful image, speaking of the passage of time, of lost childhood, and of the beauty that endures even in decay.
Sculpture carved in plaster, based on a cast from a fine grog refractory clay model, and reproduced in resin. Painted with shellac, chalk paint, acrylics, and varnish.
