Tomás Barceló
Freestanding sculpture
A framed relief depicting an eroded and silent face, barely emerging from an intensely textured blue surface. The irregularities of the material and the small reddish oxidations spread across the piece like traces of time, reinforcing its fragmentary character. The closed expression and absent gaze turn the face into a presence suspended between memory, erosion, and contemplation.
Sculpture modeled in fine grog refractory clay, casted in resin and placed in a wood frame. Painted with shellac, chalk paint, acrylics, ferric paint, and varnish.
