Tomás Barceló
Wall-mounted sculpture
A metallic mask with a ritual presence, where ornamental engravings coexist with the geometric austerity of a mechanical face. The large circular eyes, hollow and silent, seem to watch from a realm between relic and machine. The worn surface enhances the sense of a found object, carrying centuries of hidden history beneath its patina.
Sculpture modeled in clay, carved plaster, and repurposed objects. Casted in resin with new details by assembling repurposed objects and epoxy putty. Painted with shellac, chalk paint, acrylics, and varnish.
