Tomás Barceló
Freestanding sculpture
Pickup currently not available
This sculpture, inspired by Teo, the endearing character from Francesc Grimalt's The Strange Children book series, captures the poetic and melancholic essence of the character. The metallic structure, with visible gears and intricate designs on its head, reflects Teo's delicate complexity—a being that embodies both vulnerability and strength. The engraved ornamental details on the face evoke a sense of unique individuality, while the skeletal body, composed of mechanical elements, suggests an inner world of gears and emotions in constant motion.
Assembly of carved plaster elements reproduced in resin, combined with found objects. Finished with a metallic effect using shellac, acrylics, wax, and varnish.
